The famous attraction of Kansas City, 

Jacob L. Loose Park is located at Wornall Road and 51st Street, MO 64112 - a central location, south of Kansas City's Country Club Plaza. It is named on the founder of Loose-Wiles Biscuit company, Mr. Jacob L. Loose.

In 1927, his wife purchased and donated 75 acres of the old Country Club Golf Course for this park in memory of her humanitarian husband. Later on, in September 1941, the mesmerizing statue of Mr. Jacob L. Loose was presented by Mrs. Loose to Kansas city. It was designed by Rudolf Evans and is placed at the entrance of the park.


Whether you are looking for a tranquil place to spend leisure time, an incredibly clean fun spot, or a safe place to visit with children, consider visiting this beautiful park. This great strolling location has multiple sections with different treats to see. It is ranked #13 of 143 things to do in Kansas City.


There are lovely rose gardens, a fountain, excellent walking path around the perimeter, open field to play sports, tennis courts, playground with equipment, pond walkway for couples, lots of space for roaming, some tables for cookouts and beautiful large trees to provide shade.


It is a pleasure to run in the park because the walking track's surface is covered with a special material that is easier on the legs. In summers, there is also a splash pool for kids. Along with the rose garden, a circular stone rose arbor surrounding a large spectacular fountain makes the garden area a perfect place for alluring photography, weddings, and other events in spring and summer.


It is worth mentioning here, the Battle of Westport was fought at this place. The park has a historic outdoor area with several Civil War battle's memorial markings, along with a cannon.


Jacob L. Loose Park is the citizens' treasure. 

Senior citizens say that the park has hardly changed in 50 years. They still have the same affection with it, which was decades ago.


The safe and family-friendly, Jacob L. Loose Park, is worth a visit. It has higher walking traffic in the evening around 6 pm - 9 pm.
